After the victorious JD Cymru Leagues season-opener v Chirk AAA FC… Dan’s Thoughts From The Bench…
“Friday was a tight game – our goalkeeper had one save to make in the whole game which came as a result of our error, and similarly at their end, apart from our goal their goalkeeper has had nothing of note to deal with.
So we are pleased on one hand with our defending, but also conscious that we need to do more with our attacking play to ask more questions of the opposition, we wasted numerous set plays and also lacked quality in open play situations.
Having said this, we never really looked like being in much danger of conceding and had enough control of the game to see it out.
Our substitutes made good contributions for the second week running, and the players we brought on are an indication of the depth we have in our squad at this moment, we’re really pleased with their attitude more than anything else as they understand the bigger picture and put the team first.
We’re pleased to get the three points and now look ahead to Tuesday night at Prestatyn Town where we will certainly be expecting an improved performance in all departments.
Thanks to everyone who turned up to support us, it was great to see so many young supporters there, we hope to see you all on Tuesday night!
