ASA was back in the Buckley Town dugout last weekend – and it came in dramatic circumstances away to Ruthin Town.
With the scoreline at 1-1 in stoppage time, Brad Barnes fired home the decisive goal as Buckley got the better of hosts Ruthin Town 2-1.
Indeed, Brad had only joined the club on loan from Connah’s Quay Nomads days before and he marked his debut in style. Boss Hamilton, returning after serving a nine-game ban, said “My two heroes today with goals were my two players I brought in, Brad and Oli. So, I take my hat off to both of them. Not just the goals, but they were amazing and a big one as well was Josh Allen. We’re lucky to have Josh.”
All the drama was in the last 10 minutes as Oli calmly dispatched an 80th minute penalty, but saw it cancelled out by Ruthin just minutes later. Then, in the fifth minute of stoppage time, Brad came up with the dramatic winner.
Hamilton added: “Over the moon. My first game back, we’ve got a win and what a win as well.
“Last kick of the game. That’s what I love. I love football that’s exciting. I don’t want football to be boring and do you know what… we never do it the easy way, do we?”
To top it off, Brad also made the Cymru Leagues; Team of the Week… bravo!
